After 12 years of assisting our clients in areas of decluttering, organizing, and home staging, we are pleased and very excited to announce the launch of our new housekeeping division, Shine!
While our primary focus has been organizing since 2003, we have assisted several clients with housekeeping services on a regular basis as a means of maintaining order in their lives and allowing them to buy back time from their full days.
In addition to assisting our clients by helping them live with more margin and less chaos in their lives, a secondary and equally important goal for Shine is to offer a fair and positive employment opportunity for refugees forced to leave their home country because of persecution based on race, ethnicity, religion, social group or political opinion. We will partner with Lutheran Services of Iowa and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (Beaverdale, Iowa). LSI offers 14 intensive work readiness classes each year in six language groups for refugees authorized to work in the United States by the Department of Homeland Security. LSI’s refugee services in Des Moines help these individuals build self-sufficiency for their new lives here in Iowa. Zion is a local church with a global perspective where they currently pray together in over 10 languages, and that number is increasing. They understand that the world is coming to their city and to their very neighborhood and that means that everything must change as they seek to find ways to connect with the community and the world in order to serve people as if they were serving Christ himself. These employees will be paired with and mentored by key SYP/Shine staff members.
